Expression of Human Papillomavirus Type 18 Capsid Protein L1 in E. coli

Abstract

|
|
Human papillomavirus(HPV) type 18 capsid protein L1 was expressed in E. coli BL-21 strain under the control of T7 promotor by cloning the L1 open reading frame(1704 nucleotides). The gene encoding HPV 18 L1 protein was amplified by PCR and cloned
into
pET-3a E. coli expression vector. Recombinant 18L1 protein expressed in BL-21 strain was confirmed by 12% SDSPAGE followed by Western blotting with monoclonal antibody against HPV 16L1. We also cloned L1 derivative encoding C-terminus deleted L1
protein
into pET-3a vector. C-erminus deleted protein was detected by HPV 16L1 monoclonal antibody.
